This section is more like "About Me" than "About Us"! My name is Andrea Wilson. I'm 58 years old, a grandmother and a Web designer. I'm the owner of Able Webs and XSiteProDesigns.com. After building my Web design business part time for several years, I left corporate life in September of 2004 and I'm now supporting myself with a home business, just like you do or just like you can! (My credentials.)

How this Web site came into being...

After several years of building Web sites for small businesses across North America, I was tearing my hair out!

How could I...

1. provide excellent services within the small budgets of most home based businesses?
2. find a less expensive alternative to a full-blown custom Web site for my clients?
3. make it easy for site owners to make changes or updates once their site was finished?

While I found partial solutions to these problems via Web templates and Customer Management Systems, no solution offered business owners the ease of use and the control over their Web sites that I wanted for them. Then came XSitePro! The best thing since Starbucks, sliced bread and peel-and-stick envelopes!

Now, because the learning curve for XSitePro is minimal, my customers can update their own sites easily. Yippee! They are no longer reliant on me to make changes, add new pages, update events and generally care for every aspect of their Web site. So, it saves them money on maintenance costs!

And, no, this does not put me out of business, because there are always the bigger changes (and challenges!) that require knowledge of HTML, scripts, forms and so on. But it gives my clients a way to make the everyday changes to their Web sites: post their newsletter, change event dates, update prices, announce sales, add a new product page, put up a photo of their new baby, etc.

AND... and this is a big one...

Putting Google AdSense and affiliate links on Web pages is so easy with XSitePro that creating multiple income-generating sites was now a new possibility for customers that would never have been able to afford it before. And, using XSitePro, they could even build their own sites...as long as they could find high quality templates. Ah, but there was the problem...

Once I realized all the benefits to XSitePro, I started looking around for professional pre-made templates my clients could use. Oh, oh, not much to choose from... and the quality really varied! Would my customers be happy with the choices? As it turned out, no, they weren't. I could see that custom templates would be needed. So I built them...and my clients loved them! Why? Because I built them with all the attention to detail, the care, the careful colour choices, the high quality graphics and the Internet marketing sense that I bring to all my projects!

There will always be a place for full-blown custom Web sites built in Dreamweaver. A busy doctor in private practice isn't going to want to build nor update their own Web site... plus, their budget will include full Web design services. But for many small businesses, home based businesses, affiliate marketers, hobby enthusiasts and people testing the Internet "waters" with their products or service, XSitePro, coupled with a professionally-designed XSitePro template, makes all the sense in the world.

It's even better than Starbucks, although if you're like me you'll want to take your laptop with you and drink your latté while you browse the Warriors Forum. You can get the best of both worlds that way.
